Victor Public Library’s “Capital” Venture

Hunger Games competition/party for students going into 7-12th grades or Freshman in college.

Effie Trinket here with a message from the Capital.

“On Saturday, August 18th teens from all over the Capital are invited to attend VPL’s Hunger Games Event.  Youth are encouraged to sign up in teams of 2 to represent your District in glorious competition.  Six different stations (all related to the book) from knot tying to shelter building will be offered as we test your skill and knowledge to survive the Games.  If you’re not up to task…let’s just say the cannon will be booming!  We’ll also have a book trivia competition, pizza and cookie decorating (for all you Peeta fans), and will wrap up the event by watching the movie. The Games begin at 4:00 and will wrap up around 8:30 that evening.

And may the odds be ever in your favor!”

Youth can sign up by coming into the library, calling, or sending a Facebook message.  The deadline to register is Monday, August 13th.  Youth are invited to bring a water bottle for drinking and a small pillow or blanket for watching the movie.
